The commitment to renewable energies in the context of the energy transition offers great opportunities for Arteche in North America, where we have experienced a strong impulse thanks to projects such as Brazos Repower Project, a 182.5MW wind farm
Over 30 Power Quality projects for the interconnection of Renewable Energies in the United States and Canada since 2022

At Arteche, the sustainability strategy is aligned with our daily operations and is a fundamental part of our business. In this context, and in parallel with the solid growth of Power Quality in the U.S. and Canadian markets, the Brazos Repower Project, a 182.5MW onshore wind farm located in Fluvanna, Texas, is part of this strategy.

Harmonic distortion is present due to the presence of nonlinear loads, as in PV power plants and wind farms. Other power equipment used in grid interconnection amplify the harmonic distortion in a phenomenon called harmonic resonance. As a results, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) harms power factor, pollutes power grid and reduces performance.

The passive filters are widespread to solve harmonic issues. There are different topologies, such as tuned filters, high-pass filters or C-type filters. Our deep experience assessing harmonic and resonance phenomenon allows us to deploy the right solution for each project.
In Brazos Repower Project, we have supplied 2 Type C filters of 31MVAr at a voltage of 138kV, mounted on galvanized steel structures, which were successfully energized on MM/YY, and tested to comply with harmonic resonance successfully.

The Type C filters are considered one of the most complex passive filters in terms of design, manufacturing, and on-site assembly. This complexity is further heightened when it comes to high-voltage solutions.

This is one of the most outstanding and challenging among the 30 projects we have successfully developed since 2022 and will serve us to continue growing in the North American region, where the commitment to renewable energies to carry out the energy transition generates great opportunities.

At Arteche we continue #MovingTogether offering sustainable, complete, and quality solutions and advising our clients.
